1934 June 14: Donald William While was born in Hanna, Wyoming to John "Jack" and Janet "Jessie" While.
1940's: Donald (front) and his brother John "Sonny" While had their pictures taken on a pony by a professional photographer who arrived in Hanna with a pony and a cowboy outfit.
1953: Don graduated from Hanna High School.
1952: Don "Duck" While was the manager of the 1952 Six Man state football champions. They beat Cowley 18 - 12.

1953 November: Donald William While and Bettye Linda Munson were married. Don and Bettye spent most of their married life living in Laramie, Wyoming.
1999: Don retired from Barbering at the University of Wyoming Student Union.
2001: Don was voted "Sprit of Christmas" in Laramie.
2003 April 5: Don While died in Fort Collins, Colorado at age 68. He was buried in the Green Hills Cemetery in Laramie, Wyoming.
Donald While, 68, of Laramie, died Saturday April 5, 2003 at Colombine Care Center West in Fort Collins, Colorado. He was born June 14, 1934 in Hanna, Wyoming the son of John Jr. and Jessie (Tennant) While. He was on of eight children. Don attended school in Hanna where he graduated in 1953. Don and Bettye Munson were married in November 1953. After completing barber school, they settled in Laramie where Don barbered at the University of Wyoming Student Union until his retirement in 1999. Besides his family and occupation, Don's passions included attending Wyoming Cowboy basketball and football games, gardening, fishing, decorating his house and yard at Christmas time, and been Santa, handing out candy canes for those who stopped by on Christmas Eve. He was named "Spirit of Christmas in 2001. He created wonderful stained glass objects and could build anything. He adored his dachshund, Sarah. He was a member of the Alco Rod and Gun Club and a member of Laramie B.P.O. Elks No. 582. He was preceded in death by his parents and five siblings: Violet, Dorothy, Frances, John and Hank. Don is survived by his wife Bettye While of Laramie; a daughter, Diane While of Fort Collins, Colorado: two sons, Don While an his wife Jackie of Laramie and Todd While and his wife Charlotte of Laramie; two sisters: Edna Lacy of Chesapeake, Virgina and Joyce McCartney and her husband Jim of Hanna: three granddaughters, one great-grand-daughter, other brothers and sisters-in-law, many nieces and nephews, including Ron Leathers, Kristy Becker, Kim Shurter, Gordon Roop, Phyllis Johnson and Grant Johnson all of Laramie. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, April 11 at Montgomery-Styker Funeral Home with Pastor Ralph Rohr officiating. Interment will follow in Green Hill Cemetery.
