Jones, Evan "Snapper"and Anna Maria: Town Marshall
Exhibit by Bob Leathers
Evan "Snapper" Jones was a long serving law enforcement officer in Carbon County and Hanna. He and Anna had a beautiful flower garden in their backyard. The lived in Tipperary on the upper road. Their house was easily identified by the several large pine trees growing in their yard.
Hanna Garden Contest
To Mr. Evan Jones, who won the first prize for the most attractive garden in 1924, again goes the first prize this year. Mr. Jones lived in Old Carbon long ago and moved to Hanna when Carbon was abandoned. Except for three years, spent in the Kemmerer district, he was been in Hanna ever since, is much interested in the town and has always done his part to make it a home-like place in which to live. His garden is a joy to all beholders and his generous contributions of flowers are always much appreciated by his friends. (Union Pacific Coal Company Employe's Magazine, November 1925)
