1942 – 1945: Elk Mountain Valley Coal Company's Gary Underground Mine at Hanna, Wyoming

The Elk Mountain Valley Coal Company's Gary underground mine was reopened in 1942. After 10 years of production the company abandoned the mine in 1950. The mine produced 748,729 tons of coal, with a peak work force of 72 workers in 1945. No deaths were found in the mine.
