Note:
James Attryde - died at Hanna on September 10, 1934, James Attryde, an honored member of the Old Timers’ Association, who was retired on pension March 1, 1927. “Jim,” as he was familiarly known, was born in London, England, September 17, 1858, first entered the Company’s employ in November, 1885, as a Miner at Almy, and afterwards worked at several of our operations, including Spring Valley, Piedmont, Cumberland, and Hanna. He was out of the service three or four years at which time he was engaged with the Rocky Mountain Coal Company at Almy. At the early age of ten, he worked in some of the mines in the old country. His wife predeceased him on December 7, 1925, and to mourn his departure are left one son, Edward (of Hanna) and four daughters, Mrs. Charles Higgins (Hanna), Mrs. William Bateman, (Rock Springs), Mrs. Henry Fredericks, (Laramie), and Mrs. Wynn Groutage, (Winton). Mr. Attryde was in attendance at the Tenth Annual Reunion of the Old Timers’ Association in June last, and met many an old comrade of former days. He had been in poor health for many years, but that fact did not deter his yearly visits to this city at these gatherings.  (UPCCEM, October 1934)
